38-year-old cycling legend Lance Armstrong’s career is to come to the end of the road after this year’s Tour de France.
The American legend who has won the Tour a record seven times announced his decision to quit via his Twitter page.
Armstrong, who will ride his final Tour as part of the RadioShack team told fans: " “This will be [my] final Tour de France. It's been a great ride. Looking forward to three great weeks."
The 38 year-old, who was diagnosed with testicular cancer in 1996 and given a 5-50 chance of survival won the Tour each year from 1999 to 2005 before announcing his retirement from the sport.
