French Ligue 1 - Olympique Lyon vs. AS Monaco Live

Today, OL play the most important match of the season, once again. In what may be their final match of the season- metaphorically- if they lose, Lyon welcome AS Monaco to Gerland to play an “in-hand” match which was originaly scheduled the weekend before the second leg of Bayen, but postponed by the LFP.

After backing themselves further into a corner with a draw at Valenciennes this past weekend, Lyon find themselves under increasing pressure to win, and are forced to win their last two matches- barring an AJA/LOSC loss this weekend- in order to keep hope alive.

Second placed Lille won their match over the weekend, and coupled with draws by both OL and AJA, came a little closer to cementing their grip on second place and automatic CL qualification. With a Les Dogues victory this weekend, Lyon will be left to grapple with Auxerre- assuming they win- for third, and inspite of the draw vs. VA, OL still have their destinies in their own hands, as the third and final CL birth is theirs for the taking.

History: Lyon are 20-13-12 vs. ASM at Gerland. Monaco haven’t won in the their last seven trips to Lyon.
